A Balkan-Circumpontic xeric steppe annual species acting mostly
like a ruderal. Spread also in a variety of places in Central Europe
as a weed but in Romania it can be encountered only in the southern
areas
It occurs into two varieties, a white flowered one which
seemingly is the most common and one with that sort of pale pink
flowers so specific for the species in Acrolophus
subgenus.
